Atlas of the World - in English and German

If you want to discover the world you can do it easily with the world atlas of the DZB. You can choose between a German and an English version.

The world atlas consists of 12 parts:

Each continent includes an overall map with page register followed by a physical map and several detailed maps. Geographical terms are provided in international abbreviations, which are explained on the respective register pages. All maps are numbered for exact identification. The atlas measures: 35 x 41 cm.

The world atlas is available in three different editions:

  1. relief for blind people
  2. large print for the partially sighted and sighted people
  3. combination of both editions by matching a transparent relief map with large print put congruently underneath for all users

You can choose individually the edition that fits you most in English or German. It is possible to extend the atlas adding maps of single countries. International abbreviations permit editions in several languages. The excellently manufactured and easy to handle product will last a long time. Relief and braille letters can be very clearly distinguished.

Generalized cartographic data – provided by the Klett-Perthes publishing house in Gotha (Germany) – form the basis for the production of the relief models and large print pages.
The relief maps are produced via stencils by vacuum thermoforming. The large print maps are created via 4-colour offset printing.

Following parts of world atlas are currently available in English:
